VAST

Os Visual Audio Sensory Theater (VAST) nasceram da mente brilhante de Jon Crosby, com quatro álbuns editados e mais alguns eps e compilações são uma banda pouco conhecida mas com grande valor.

O que podemos ouvir é um rock emotivo com alguns laivos electrónicos e com belas orquestrações a apoiar a voz etérea de Crosby.

Do álbum "Music For People" aqui vos deixo esta magnifica "We Will Meet Again" para aqueles cuja distância é encurtada por um sentimento maior que o mundo.

Hoje deixo-vos a banda alemã de rock industrial Jesus On Extasy.
Por vezes lá aparecem estas bandas do nada para nos ocuparem por uns dias.

Do album "Beloved Enemy" de 2008 deixo-vos "The Last Day Of My Life"

ANATHEMA - ONE LAST GOODBYE

Dos Anathema muito haveria para dizer, uma das bandas pilares na minha vida, debitam emoções e genialidade em tudo que fazem.
Através de uma evolução metódica desde o doom/death dos primeiros álbuns, passando pelas sonoridades ensopadas de psicadelismo à Pink Floyd, até ao rock adulto e progressivo no qual navegam agora, tudo faz sentido consoante a época, souberam crescer nunca se vendendo a nenhuma moda.
Do muito emotivo (principalmente para a banda) "Judgement" aqui vos deixo "One Last Goodbye" música com um significado profundo para os irmãos Cavanagh e para tantas outras pessoas que perderam alguém querido.

KATATONIA - THE NIGHT IS THE NEW DAY

Finalmente chegou-me às mãos o novo álbum dos Katatonia, e que álbum!
Valeram todos estes três anos de espera por uma nova obra prima de uma banda que por estas alturas não tem mais nada a provar, tudo o que precisam é debitar a sua música cheia de emoção e qualidade.
Nota-se de álbum para album um crescimento a nivel musical que só as grnades bandas conseguem, cada promenor é limado ao extremo, tudo se compõe naturalmente para criar uma harmonia vibrante.
De "Forsaker" até "Departer", onde a voz de Jonas Renske se mostra em plena glória, viajamos numa montanha russa de emoções, violência contida em riffs concisos e brutais, melodias belas misturadas numa aura negra que sempre envolveu a banda.
Um dos melhores álbuns dentro do estilo de 2009.

Hoje deixo-vos por aqui os noruegueses Zeromancer, já com nove anos de carreira lançaram este ano o excelente "Sinners International", praticantes de um envolvente electro/goth rock sóbrio e elegante, prendem-nos com as suas melodias precisas.

Deixo-vos esta "Ammonite" a minha preferida do álbum e uma das melhores músicas que já ouvi.

ASHES DIVIDE

A música muda consoante o estado de espiríto, hoje deixo-vos uma das minhas mais recentes "descobertas", os Ashes Divide nasceram da mente de Billy Howerdel dos A Perfect Circle, e nota-se através desta estreia que o mesmo tem muita influencia na sua banda mãe, por isso não é de estranhar a qualidade deste projecto, músicos geniais fazem música genial, é incontornável. Neste fim de tarde de um ainda tímido Outono deixo-vos a faixa "Too Late" reterida do álbum de estreia deste colectivo norte-americano ,
"Keep Telling Myself It's Alright" arrepiante e com uma letra fantástica.
O álbum tem a participação especial de duas figuras importantes ligadas ao presente e passado dos APC, Josh Freese e Paz Lenchantin bem como na faixa "The Sword" de Devo Keenan filho do senhor Maynard James Keenan dos Tool e A Perfect Circle.

O que não daríamos por vezes para nos podermos afastar de nós próprios por uns momentos?

LEAVES EYES - "NJORD"

Inauguro este meu novo espaço com os Leaves Eyes, após os álbuns "Lovelorn" (2004) e "Vinland Saga" (2005) a banda norueguesa/alemã regressa com "Njord", regresso em grande forma diga-se de passagem, com um metal sinfónico cada vez mais apurado e com Liv Kristine em excelente forma vocal.

Mais uma vez o grupo mergulha no mundo dos vikings para versar a temática à volta das suas canções.

Neste álbum para além de terem utilizado um coro e uma orquestra, a voz "agressiva" de Alex Krull tem um papel mais preponderante.

No entanto as melodias cointinuam lá, com belas baladas das quais se destaca "Irish Rain" onde a voz de Liv viaja por entre texturas celtas.
